The McKillop Library was selected as a 2012 recipient of books through The Nippon Foundation’s “Read Japan” book donation program. The selected libraries receive a donation of up to 100 English books on Japan. The books cover five main categories: Politics & International Relations, Economy & Business, Society & Culture, Literature & Arts, and History. The foundation believes readers can develop a greater understanding of contemporary Japan through this collection. Check out our New Releases display to view the newest donated books.

Looking for something fun to read? In addition to our 1st FL browsing area, which contains popular fiction and non-fiction titles, we also have a display of new YA (young adult) fiction on the 2nd FL. Christine Bagley, Curriculum Resources Librarian, created the display. The idea is for students to walk by, see a book cover that catches their eye and perhaps find their next favorite book.
The display is constantly changing as books are borrowed and then replaced with new books as they come in. Just some of the titles on this new young adult display are:
The Betrayal of Maggie Blair (by Elizabeth Laird)
I’ll Be There (by Holly Goldberg Sloan)
Smells like Treasure (by Suzanne Selfors)
A Crack in the Sky (by Mark Peter Hughes)
How to Rock Braces and Glasses (by Meg Haston)
