Welcome back! We hope you all have had a joyous and restful break. We’ve been busy here in the library, preparing for the new semester. This year, we will have a number of events, programs, displays, crafting workshops and more! All will be announced with full details as they approach.
We have had some staff changes over the break. We welcome Alicia Vaandering who is our new Education and Instructional Design Librarian. You can find Alicia at the 2nd FL information desk or in office Library 129; her phone number is 401-341-2259.
We also bid a fond farewell to long-time employees Olga Verbeek and Gerald “Joe” Foley who both retired in December — we wish them well!
Check-out our current DVD and Book displays on the 1st FL.
Our “Diversity in Children’s Literature” display includes titles such as “I Am Jazz,” “And Tango Makes Three,” and “Time To Pray” (display created by Alicia Vaandering, Education and Instructional Design Librarian).
Our “Great Winter Flicks” display includes movie titles such as “Groundhog Day,” “Misery,” and “Winter Sleep” (display created by Kristin Butler, Special Programs Librarian).
Try out new individual private study carrels on the 3rd FL (silent FL) next to the moving shelves! We have received your overwhelming positive feedback and we will do our best to purchase more!
Wish you had a quick, easy to read guide on how to do research? Maybe you forgot some of the steps, or need a refresher on the whole process. In any case, we’ve got you covered with the “Research from Start to Finish” guide.
The guide includes videos and information on the research process, including choosing a topic, search strategies, evaluating and citing sources (MLA, APA, etc), and more!
Librarians are always here to help. Ask us anything— we’ll make sure you get the assistance you need. In addition to visiting us at the information desk, you can also call, text or email.
