Sewing Machines Available for Check-Out

The library now has sewing machines available for checkout to Salve students! Librarian Christine Bagley was awarded a Mission Grant to add two sewing machines to the library’s collection. Students interested in learning to sew can now try their hand at it without having to invest in a machine.

Come view the Spring Bull Gallery’s 20th Annual Fakes and Forgeries Exhibit
February 5 – 29, 2013
Opening Reception, Saturday, February 2, 2013

Congratulations to Christine Bagley, Curriculum Resources Librarian, whose winning quilt “Ice Points” will be displayed.

Spring Bull Gallery’s 20th Annual Fakes & Forgeries will open with a fun filled reception on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 5-7 pm. From its beginnings, this unusual show has brought together area artists who enter artwork representing art from the Renaissance to the modern day, in a wide variety of two and three dimensional mediums. Artists are invited to submit serious “copies” or tongue-in-cheek humorous interpretation of master works. It’s a great opportunity for the artists to learn from the masters and for the public a chance to enjoy and own an “almost masterpiece.” The exhibit has grown to be a much anticipated area event for both artists and the art appreciators during the month of February.

Guest judge will select the “Best in Show” and several “Honorable Mentions” awards from the works submitted. The winners will be recognized during the opening reception. Gallery visitors asked to vote for the “People’s Choice Award” throughout the month. The show runs February 2 – 28, 2013.

The gallery will be open until 8 pm. on Thursday, February 14th for Gallery Night in Newport. Spring Bull Gallery located at55 Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island is wheel chair accessible and open free to the public. Gallery hours are noon to 5 pm. daily. For additional information on this exhibition, future gallery events or member artists please call the gallery at 401-849-9155 or visit the gallery on-line at www.springbullgallery.com.
